Ages 6–8Group Size: 6–7 Children
Kidz Connect Crew is designed for children who are comfortable learning and participating within a group and are ready to strengthen more advanced social communication and friendship skills.
Children will practice starting and maintaining conversations, asking questions, staying on topic, cooperative play, teamwork, flexible thinking, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and understanding different perspectives.
Instead of simply talking about social situations, our activities create opportunities for children to experience them.
Children may play games, complete team challenges, create projects, participate in conversations, and work toward shared goals — giving them real reasons to communicate, compromise, collaborate, and problem-solve with peers.
As children become older, we can also work on situations such as handling losing, accepting another person’s idea, joining an activity, recognizing social cues, resolving disagreements, and developing and maintaining friendships.
Is Kidz Connect Crew a Good Fit?
Crew is designed for children who can participate and learn within a larger peer group with general adult guidance rather than continuous individual support.
Children should generally be able to:
- Communicate conversationally with peers and adults
- Participate in group activities
- Follow multi-step or group directions with reasonable support
- Transition between activities
- Participate safely with peers
- Tolerate waiting, losing, or changes with support
- Engage without continuous 1:1 or 2:1 adult assistance
Children may attend general education, mainstream, inclusion, or special education programs. School placement alone does not determine eligibility.
