ABA Therapy Services

ABA Therapy & Support Services in Northern New Jersey

TEAM Behavioral Consultants provides four services for children and families across Northern New Jersey: in-home ABA therapy, center-based ABA therapy at our Flanders and Augusta centers, school support and consultation, and Kidz Connect social skills groups.

Every ABA program is individualized and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) — from your child’s first assessment through every update to their treatment plan. We serve families across Morris County and Sussex County.

  1. In-Home ABA Therapy — one-on-one ABA in your home, built around your family’s everyday routines.
  2. Center-Based ABA Therapy — one-on-one ABA with peer and group opportunities at our two centers.
  3. School Support & Consultation — BCBA support for school districts, school teams and families.
  4. Kidz Connect Social Skills Groups — small social groups for children ages 3–10.

In-Home ABA Therapy

In-home ABA therapy helps children learn and practice meaningful skills in the place where many everyday routines naturally happen. Your child works one-on-one with a trained behavior therapist who follows an individualized treatment plan developed and supervised by a BCBA — so therapy can happen while getting ready for school, doing homework, preparing a snack or playing with siblings.

Depending on your child’s needs, goals may include:

  1. Communication — expressing wants, needs, feelings, choices and requests for help.
  2. Daily Living & Independence — dressing, hygiene, toileting, mealtimes and chores.
  3. Social & Play Skills — playing with siblings and peers, taking turns and sharing.
  4. Behavior & Emotional Regulation — handling frustration, waiting, transitions and changes in routine.
  5. Home & Family Routines — mornings, bedtime, homework, meals and family activities.
  6. Community & Safety Skills — outings, stores, restaurants and playgrounds.
  7. Generalizing Skills — using new skills with different people and in different settings.

Parent and caregiver collaboration is built into every in-home program. For toddlers, our early intervention ABA program is designed for children 18 months to 3 years.

Center-Based ABA Therapy

Our centers combine individualized 1:1 ABA therapy with opportunities for peer interaction, group activities, play, daily living routines and school-readiness skills. Each child’s treatment is individualized by a BCBA based on their unique strengths, needs and family priorities.

We have two center-based locations in Northern New Jersey, and both offer the same services:

  1. Flanders Center — 4 Gold Mine Road, Flanders, NJ 07836. Serving Morris County and the surrounding area.
  2. Augusta Center — 122 US Highway 206, Augusta, NJ 07822. Serving Sussex County and the surrounding area.

Many families are a good fit for one setting, and some benefit from a combination of center-based and in-home therapy. Your child’s BCBA will make a recommendation based on their assessment, your child’s goals and your family’s priorities.

School Support & Consultation

Our BCBAs work collaboratively with educators, Child Study Teams, related-service providers and families to understand a student’s needs and develop practical, individualized strategies that support communication, participation, independence, learning and safety at school.

For school districts:

  1. School and classroom observations
  2. Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
  3. Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  4. BCBA consultation for individual students, classrooms or programs
  5. Staff coaching and training
  6. Professional development and in-service training

For parents and families: private consultation with a BCBA who can help you understand your child’s FBA, behavior plan, IEP behavioral goals and progress data, and prepare for conversations with the school team. We’re part of the team — not a replacement for it.

Questions About Our Services

What services does TEAM Behavioral Consultants offer?

TEAM Behavioral Consultants offers four services for children and families in Northern New Jersey: in-home ABA therapy, center-based ABA therapy at our Flanders and Augusta centers, school support and consultation for school districts and families, and Kidz Connect social skills groups for children ages 3–10.

We serve families across Morris County and Sussex County.

What is the difference between in-home and center-based ABA therapy?

The difference is the setting. Center-based ABA happens at one of our centers, where other children are nearby — creating natural opportunities to work on communication, play, turn-taking, group participation and social skills. In-home ABA happens in your home, where your child can practice skills inside the routines that already occur there.

The clinical approach is the same in both: a BCBA assessment, an individualized treatment plan, one-to-one therapy, ongoing BCBA supervision, and parent and caregiver collaboration. Compare the two settings in detail.

How do I know which service is right for my child?

For ABA therapy, your child's BCBA will make a recommendation based on their assessment, your child's goals and your family's priorities. Many families are a good fit for one setting, and some benefit from a combination.

For Kidz Connect, families complete a brief intake form and our team recommends the group that gives your child the best opportunity to participate and connect.

Does insurance cover your services?

TEAM Behavioral Consultants works with a range of insurance plans for in-home and center-based ABA therapy. Coverage, authorization requirements and out-of-pocket costs vary by plan, so the reliable answer for your family comes from a benefits check. See our insurance page or contact us and we will help you verify your benefits.

Kidz Connect may be covered by insurance in some cases. Our Program Coordinator can talk through the options with you.

Does my child need a diagnosis?

For insurance-funded ABA therapy, a diagnosis is generally required, because coverage is written around medically necessary treatment. Requirements vary by plan.

Kidz Connect does not require a diagnosis. Groups welcome both neurodivergent and neurotypical children.

Do you offer ABA therapy for toddlers?

Yes. Our early intervention ABA program is designed for children 18 months to 3 years, and our Kidz Connect Minis group is for children ages 3–5.

How do we get started?

ABA services begin with an assessment completed by a BCBA, who will learn about your child's strengths, areas of need, daily routines and your family's priorities. That assessment becomes an individualized treatment plan with meaningful, measurable goals. Contact us to learn about availability, insurance coverage and next steps.

For Kidz Connect, start with the intake form. School districts and families interested in consultation can contact our team.
